INFECTIOUS DISEASES FOR CHILDREN

Many infectious diseases like stomach bugs, ear infections, colds are the most widespread diseases which affect the kids during winter times. Common diseases and their treatments are given below

The symptoms of cold are nasal congestion, runny nose, cough, sore throat, mild fever and headache. It is contagious for the first five days. Lot of fluids should be given to them and a humidifier used. Acetaminophen or Ibuprofen should be given to the children to reduce ache, fever with saline nose. Since there are 200 viruses causing cold the child may be affected by different ones each time. By wiping high chairs, grocery carts and restaurant tabletops regularly the child can be protected from exposure to cold germs.

About 90% of children get affected by Respiratory Syncytial Virus. The symptoms are similar to cold and in addition it may trigger bronchiolitis and it leads to rapid breathing, wheezing and continuous cough. Treatment is the same as cold. The children should be avoided from exposure to wood burning, cigarette smoke, perfumes and fireplaces.

By four years almost every child gets affected by stomach Flu as a minimum one time. The symptoms include fever, vomiting and diarrhea. It is highly contagious. Lot of fluids should be given. jell O and Ice pops have sweet taste and amusing to eat. Rotavirus oral vaccine is best for especially 2 months old babies.

By 2 years many children get infected by Roseola. The child has signs of red rashes in the body along with fever, cough and diarrhea. Infection spreads till the fever stops, but the rashes are not contagious. The rash can be ignored and acetaminophen or ibuprofen can be given. The virus stays inside the body and may get reactivated.
Ear infection is common that the kids get affected at least once by the age 3 years. The child gets irritable, pull ears and trouble to sleep. Ear infection is not contagious although the cold which caused ear infection is. Fever and pain can be treated with Ibuprofen or acetaminophen.

Many kids get fever every year. The symptoms are runny nose, sore throat, cough, chills and body aches and high fever. Treatment is like ordinary cold. Dehydration due to high fever and breathing troubles may need hospitalization.

The symptoms of hand, mouth and foot disease are blisters inside the mouth and you cn find bumps on soles of feet, fingers and palms. It is treated with ache relievers and yogurt, ice pops and smooth foods are recommended. .Magic mouth wash remedy gives relief. The virus stays in the stools for many years..

Viral croup has symptoms like barking, stridor, hoarseness and close like cough. It is contagious only to kids. Having sizzling shower and taking steamy bath helps to get relief.
