The best medicine for young children if they get tummy ache, bug bite,
or stuffy nose is home remedies as said by the doctors. These home remedy
treatment has least side effects , using some items already in hand and
make it cheaper than modern medicines. Scientific studies have proved
chamomile and ginger are such types of home remedies which work effectively.
The doctor should be called if the problem is serious.
Sore throat can be treated with lemon juice and honey. Honey mixed with
cough syrup is the best medicine for cough however honey may not be recommended
for children under one year.
A Chamomile Tea helps to relax intestinal muscles, which helps to calm
the baby. About 4 ounces of this tea is recommended for babies.
Paste of baking soda helps to stop itching rather than the medicines.
The child should be kept upright and his nostrils pinched for some time
and then a bit of ground cayenne pepper should be sprinkled using a wet
cotton swab and dabbed inside the bleeding part of the nose.
The wart which is really stubborn gets irritated by using tape of gray
fabric. The tape is wound tightly around the child’s wart and within 4
weeks the wart disappears.
When the child is stressed breathing deeply and slowly helps to relax.
Head pain of the child can be cured by wrapping ice cubes inside a dish
towel and keeping upon the skin.
Instead of heat wrap a sock filled with uncooked rice and tied with a
thread will help.
If a child suffers from swimmer’s ear, it is due to the ear traps fluid
and bacteria and hence infected and needs to be treated with antibiotic
drops. If the case is mild then hot air can be blowed using a dryer by
keeping it at a distance until the ear becomes dry.
Six month old baby with nasal congestion can be treated by giving nasal
rinse with sea water solution or saline solution without preservative
using bulb syringe. Sea water is said to help
Stomach contractions make the child feel nauseous and ginger helps to
stop it. Single teaspoon of fresh ginger is shredded in four ounces of
boiling water. Let it stand for 4 to 5 minutes. When it gets cooled honey
can be added to it and given to the child before boarding the car.
Minor swelling in child can be cured using cucumber slices.
If the child is stung by a wasp or bee a credit card edge can be used
to remove the venom from the skin.
Children from the age of four complaining about full stomach subsequent
to heavy meal can be asked to chew a gum which produces extra saliva to
neutralize the stomach acid.
